Fashion Joggers??

Hey there,

This is going to be a short post for a casual outfit. Basic elements, basic look. The day I wore this was a sweltering day that I did not plan for. I didn't check the forecast as I was in a rush to meet a friend. Had I known, I would have maybe ditched a couple of items in exchange for others, but this is what I got.

These are women's lightweight wool joggers from Banana Republic. They are actually quite form-fitting with just enough bag to be able to call them joggers. Casual non-functional fashion joggers have seemed to become rather popular in the past few years. I usually oppose functionless things that imitate other functional things. Recently, however, I am allowing myself to like things I instinctually like, without reasoning why I should hate it. Just wish they looked as good on me as they did on the mannequin! These pants have two zippered pockets which are roomy, but unfortunately, very useless back pockets. In future posts, you will most definitely see other BR women's pants that have the most frustratingly useless back pockets, they might as well be fake. I love the material of these pants. The lightweight wool, combined with the slight roominess actually makes for a cool pant on a hot day. Shorts might have been more ideal, but these were not terrible.

My top is just a plain old men's pocket tee also from BR. Regular t-shirts are one of the tops I can usually buy from the men's department. Along with sweaters. Most knit items will fit me okay because of their moldability. Wovens tend to be more rigid and accentuate the areas that don't fit, like my waist and chest, and sometimes shoulders.

Told you that was short. What should I talk about next??

Other Items:
Shoes- Bernie Mev. Slip-on Sneaker (women's)
Hat- Banana Republic Tweed Baseball Cap (men's)
Bag- Sakroots Crossbody (women's)
Watch- Swatch 007 Villian Collection (men's?)

Fall Time, Baby!

It's Fall!!! Well, we experienced a glimpse of it this past weekend here in New York anyway. It was lovely! Although it was rainy and cloudy, the cool temperatures brought a smile to my face. Although I started this blog in the summer, my warm weather game really isn't strong. I guess you could say I have some body image issues and I can only stay covered up so much without overheating. I'll work on that next year. The cooler season, however, is where my game is at. Sweaters, shoes, jackets, scarfs, socks... cover me up! Fall and Winter are my two favorite seasons. The pair of shoes in this outfit made its debut this past Sunday. I purchased them back home in Honolulu (why they sell them there? they sell a lot of cold weather things there that people hoard...) in December, but they are cold weather shoes. They are lined with a very soft fuzzy lining for insulation, thus the long wait to use them. I got a few compliments on them at the pool hall. One guy seemed to be a ...

A Little Backyard Fun

Aloha, So I am going to use this post to show off a little fun thing a friend, and I did a couple weekends ago (with pics) while talking about/reviewing one of my favorite pieces of outdoor clothing. I spontaneously bought a Groupon for waterfall rappelling with the company Northeast Mountaineering (I have a little short paragraph about thoughts on them below) a couple of months ago. While packing for this short one day guided activity, I knew exactly what I was going to wear to get pummeled by a waterfall. The pants I am wearing in these photos is Patagonia's Men's Gi III pant. I bought these pants in April 2016. They have since become go-to pant for hiking, traveling, camping, chilly nights on the beach, and basically any outdoor activity. As I said in my last post, I prefer to wear long pants over shorts, even when I am hiking, wading through streams, or in this case waterfall rappelling, no matter how hot it is.  I bought these pants in Hawaii, with Hawaii type of...

New York, New City, New Blog

Dear World (or whoever stumbles upon this blog),  Welcome to my new blog! I have been wanting to do this for a while now, but haven't found the right time or words to get started. As of this past weekend, I am completely moved into my new apartment in New York City, so why not go with the flow of new things! (hopefully, the words will flow too...)  I would like this blog to highlight my taste in fashion and how I navigate shopping and choosing items that look and feel right for me. As you can see in my picture, I am not your typical fashion blogging girl (maybe we'll get into identity things, perhaps not). I am often mistaken for a "sir," which really doesn't bother me, but sometimes shopping can get really awkward, uncomfortable, even terrifying at times. People always make assumptions one way or another — "oh, you would really like this (men's) shirt, it looks like something you would wear." Actually, a lot of my shirts are women's...
